It was recorded on March 15 just a few days after President Trump declared a National Emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. You can see how I was trying to apply the current situation to the sermon text that had been chosen long before the emergency was declared. This message is based on John 9 where Jesus heals the man born blind.

Jesus Friend of Sinners

Many people think of God as some distant entity, off somewhere in the universe. But God reveals himself to us in the Bible in stark contrast to a distant entity. There is no better picture of this than in Jesus Christ. As we read through the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life, we see over and over again how he befriends the least, last and lost. In Jesus, we see the friend of sinners.
